BLUEBERRY & MANDARIN SANGRIA

Ingredients

  • 1 750 ml bottle or red wine (Rioja Red, Shiraz)
  • ½ lemon cut into wedges and ½ lemon cut into slices
  • ½ mandarin cut into wedges & ½ mandarin cut into slices
  • a handful of fresh blueberries
  • 30 ml sugar
  • 30 ml brandy
  • 500 ml ginger ale

Instructions

  • 1. Pour wine in the pitcher and squeeze the juice from the wedges for the lemon and mandarin into the wine.
  • 2. Put in the mandarin and lemon slices (no pips) and add sugar and brandy. Chill overnight.
  • 3. Add ginger ale and blueberries just before serving.
  • 4. If you’d like to serve right away, use chilled red wine and serve over lots of ice.
